Stop wasting your muscles! Start supplementing with essential BCAAs! ImSoAlpha Instantized BCAA provides your body with the essential amino acids needed before muscle breakdown occurs. Supplementing with BCAAs can also increase muscle growth, decrease soreness, and prevent muscle breakdown.

Read our Optimal Alpha Blog to learn more about the benefits of amino acids:

BCAAs are actually Amino Acids that are the major components of muscle building proteins. The three BCAAs are leucine, isoleucine, and valine. They are in the category of “essential amino acids.” This means that our body cannot make these aminos on it’s own and we must get them from an outside source. We require an adequate amount of amino acids in order to maintain our muscle mass and people who exercise on a regular basis can find it difficult to retain a stable quantity of amino acids in their body. This is because exercise burns amino acids at a rapid pace and sometimes will even burn muscle. bcaa1.jpg

1. Improved Performance

BCAAs are known for improving exercise performance by diminishing muscle fatigue. Everyone experiences fatigue and exhaustion from exercise, but how quickly you tire depends on serveral factors.

Your muscles use BCAAs during exercise, causeing levels in your blood to decrease. Then the level declines, levels of essential amino acid tryptophan increases. This amino acid is converted to serotonin. Serotonin levels are believed to cause fatigue. But BCAAs are believed to reduce serotonin levels, and thus cancel out the fatigue and actually enhance exercise performance.

2. Increased Muscle Growth

Your muscles need protein to rebuild. The body breaks down protein into amino acids, which are then transported thoughtout the body to be used in protein synthesis for other muscles. Branched-chain amino acids are the building blocks to maintaining muscle mass.

3. Decreased Muscle Soreness

Some research suggests BCAAs can help decrease muscle soreness after a workout. It’s not uncommon to feel sore a day or two after a workout, especially if your exercise routine is new.

This soreness is called delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS), which develops 12 to 24 hours after exercise and can last up to 72 hours. While the exact cause of DOMS is not clearly understood,  it’s the result of tiny tears in the muscles after exercise.

BCAAs have been shown to decrease muscle damage, which may help reduce the length and severity of DOMS. Supplementing with BCAAs decrease protein breakdown during exercise and decrease levels of creatine kinase, which is an indicator of muscle damage.

4. Prevent Muscle Breakdown

When you exercise, you use excess body fat to provide you with the required energy. However, when your body is lean and you are trying to attain a more muscular build, the body will reduce your muscle mass in order to get the energy required for the workout. Thus, the more you exercise; the more muscle you can possibly lose.

The reduction of muscle mass during fitness training results in a release of amino acids. Thus, to make up for the loss and to provide your body with the sufficient amount it needs to retain its muscular build, you will need to supplement with BCAAs.

"As muscle breakdown occurs during your exercising routine, it is necessary to have adequate amount of amino acids before and after the muscle building or fitness training session."

Glutamine, an included ingredient in this formula, is one of the most important amino acids found in our body and nearly 60 percent of our body muscle mass is made from it.

When we exercise, glutamine is the chief amino acid that is burned when muscle breakdown occurs. Thus, the glutamine levels in your body are reduced and as glutamine is important not only for muscle building but also for strength, recovery and overall stamina of the body; a decrease in its level can leave you lethargic after a workout.

In a nutshell, every individual who is involved in a rigorous body fitness routine needs to have a stable amount of amino acids and glutamine in their body.

To ensure that your body retains adequate amounts of BCAAs and glutamine during your fitness training, the best option is to keep up an external consumption of these amino acids through the use of a BCAA supplement.

Suggested Use: Mix one (1) full scoop in 8-10 ounces of cold beverage. Best taken pre-workout, post-workout, or between meals.
